Afternoon on the Island

We used over 45,000 common push pins to build this mosaic which features a recreation of Georges Seurat’s ‘Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte’. The renowned, original artwork is only a fraction of the size but we are able to lovingly represent every detail from that original painting in stunning, colourful detail. Each pin was arranged and placed by hand, and we allowed the bottom right corner of the piece to fade into the background so viewers could see the physical pins which form the entire artwork. Custom colours, subject matter and sizes are available upon request.
